8 January 2001
Dear TCA Friend,
Happy New Year.! I hope that 2001 is successful and profitable for all of us. The last month has been extremely busy and encouraging. Here's why--
Official TCA Announcement Overwhelmingly Positive
In December, TCA issued it's "official" introductory news release to the aviation media. The release, which is available for review at our web site (www.tcaavionics.com) was widely circulated at the AOPA web site. As a result of this one appearance (and only a short paragraph at that) we received over 30 inquiries in a 2 day period. I though you might like to hear what some of the respondents said:
"We are a large flight school with 75 to 100 aircraft operating at 16 locations across the US. The idea of having one company, through various individual shops, handling our avionics work is intriguing.. . .
I see benefits in billing, parts and cost control. Please contact me at your earliest convenience so we can discuss our options."
National Maintenance Director
"We are a primary flight training facility and operate a fleet of 17 Piper PA28-161's, four PA28R-201's, three PA44-180's, One American Champion 8KCAB and one PA31-350. We operate our PA31-350 and two PA28R-201's on a 135 certificate.
We have an excellent repair station but always fall into extra difficulty when a piece of Avionics goes down. We are forced to one of the few Avionics repair station's in our area. Of course their shop schedules usually cannot accommodate us inside a time frame that is most optimum for us. I fully understand the workload, lack of manpower etc; that these repair stations have to deal with.
We are growing and expect to purchase more new aircraft during the coming years which will just add to my problem in numbers the amount of avionics that I will have to deal with.
Please contact me about the possibility of doing business."
Director of Maintenance
"What you are trying to do sounds good."
Donna
"I saw a write-up about your company in AOPA's newsletter and I am very interested in getting an information package from you describing the services you provide as well as the terms and conditions of becoming an affiliate of TCA."
Bruce
"Congratulations on your new venture . . . good timing too! Definitely a need I believe. Good luck and please stay in touch as you progress forward."
Doug
"You got a great thing going, and I wish you all the success in the world!"
Mark
"Please send me more information about what it takes to join TCA."
D.M.
"Just read about your startup of TCA in the latest AOPA e-Pilot newsletter. I know you will do well with your products and your concept, and I wanted to send my best wishes for an early success!"
P.R.
"I have an avionics shop that's been in business for ten years. I would like some more info on TCA."
Mark
"Am interested in a headset purchase, please send what is available, prices and shipping, Thanks, Happy New Year."
Luke
"I learned about TCA through the AOPA ePilot newsletter this morning and decided to check out your web site. As a pilot and plane owner, I'm intrigued with the concept -- the avionics installation and repair business certainly could benefit from some good marketing and some group purchasing power."
J.S.
"Please send me some information concerning your dealership network. I am currently Avionics Manager for a large F.B.O. with 30 years experience and hold a current repairman's certificate."
G.B.
"Love the TCA concept and hope the company does well."
M.W.
"I saw your web page after reading the AOPA newsletter online. I want to tell you that's a great idea. Anyway, best of luck in your new venture."
R.B.
Obviously, we're excited at the response we've gotten from this one, brief mention in the aviation press. You'll soon see other articles in magazines like AOPA Pilot, Flying and Plane & Pilot too.
