More Than Purchasing Power
Obviously, by representing a number of shops, TCA has significant purchasing power. That means better discounts which allow dealers to increase their profit margin and still pass savings along to your customer. And because of TCA’s buying power and ability to carry inventory, long lead times can be shortened or eliminated altogether. Everybody wins. But the benefits don’t stop there.
TCA works directly with the FAA in Washington to coordinate many aspects of the regulatory process from system-wide standardized forms and processes to "virtual" employee training programs. By coordinating with the FAA in Washington, for the first time, documentation, procedures and processes can be standardized--and Washington can dictate TCA’s procedures and processes to the local FSDOs rather than the other way around.
TCA will also offer shops a standardized Repair Station Manual approved by the FAA in Washington. Just think, with TCA’s Washington-approved Repair Station Manual, no more rewrites every time the local FSDO changes personnel. TCA even will have a drug testing and an anti-drug program. And TCA will negotiate Supplement Type Certificate (STC) licenses with various STC holders and will develop STCs that are proprietary to TCA and available only to TCA associate shops.
Other TCA benefits include administrative aids ranging from an accounting/MIS package, to training in both administrative and technical areas, employment services, standardized systems, insurance packages, inventory control, and employee benefits packages.
TCA services are designed to pick up where AEA programs and services leave off such as volume avionics purchasing or test equipment rental/leases. TCA is designed to compliment AEA--not compete. And in those areas where there are overlapping services (such as health insurance, STC licenses and DER services), it gives the dealer an alternative.
In some cases where AEA services or programs are judged to be superior to what TCA could offer, TCA will use its volume purchasing power to negotiate the most favorable terms for TCA associate dealers.
